Education and Developmental Intervention Services (EDIS)

EDIS provides services for enrolled children requiring Early Intervention or Related Services to achieve educational/developmental goals.

Early Intervention Services are available for eligible children from birth up to the third birthday. Early Intervention supports families who have concerns or questions about their infant or toddler's development. Early Intervention providers help families identify if their child has a delay in one of the five developmental areas: adaptive, personal-social, communication, motor and cognitive. Early Intervention is tailored to support families and help children learn during day-to-day routines and activities. Services are therefore provided in locations where families live, work and play. Early Intervention provides information about child development, resources to support children's learning, ideas for promoting learning at home and in the community, and plans to help enhance children's development.

Referrals to Early Intervention can be made by parents or medical staff. Parents should call us at the number above to request a developmental screening.

Related Services are provided for children 3 and older by school referral only.
