Nutrition Care Division

The mission of the Nutrition Care Division is to provide world class comprehensive nutrition services through medical nutrition therapy, high quality meals, health promotion and consultation on nutrition related health and performance issues in support of the missions of Landstuhl Regional Medical Center and Regional Health Command Europe.

Nutrition Care Services

All LRMC patients can be seen by a registered dietitian. Referrals are needed for initial induvial appointment. Patients are seen in individual and group appointments depending on the diagnosis.

No consult is required for classes.

Spouses are encouraged to attend all appointments (class or individual); especially if responsible for grocery shopping and/or meal preparation.

Outpatient Hours: Monday-Friday, 7:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Nutrition Care offers video teleconferencing for patients across Europe who are unable to come to LRMC. Contact Nutrition Care for details.

Fit For Performance: a comprehensive weight management program designed to help Active Duty Service Members. Fit For Performance concentrates on 4 key areas that are essential for long-term weight loss success and these include: sleep, activity, nutrition, and mindfulness.

Healthy Weigh: Learn the basics of healthy eating with a focus on weight management and the importance of physical activity.

Heart Healthy Nutrition: This class specifically targets those who have current diagnoses of high cholesterol, hypertension, and/or cardiovascular disease. Learn how to modify your dietary and behavioral patterns to improve your heart health.

Diabetes Management: Participants obtain skills to manage diabetes through a discussion of treatment, exercise, and self-care. Learn how to follow a well-managed, healthy diet and make lifestyle changes to improve diabetes management.

Pregnancy Nutrition: Teaches participants dietary and behavioral strategies to support fetal growth and development and maternal health.

Bariatric Prep: A 5-session series developed to equip participants with the tools needed to achieve a healthy weight before and after bariatric surgery. Sessions focus on strategies to improve diet, increase physical activity, lose weight, and prevent complications following surgery.

Breakfast 6 - 8:30 a.m Lunch 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Dinner 4:30 - 6 p.m.

Military OneSource offers online weight-loss tools for adult and teen military beneficiaries.  Also features a personal health coach you can contact by telephone or online.

MOVE!
The Veterans Health Administration (VHA) developed this national weight-management program for Veterans.

Fit For Performance is the Army's scientifically based lifestyle and behavior modification program designed to help Soldiers: -Lose weight and/or meet their body fat standard as outlined in AR 600-9; Army Body Composition Program -Maximize military readiness and job performance -Lower risk of weight-related disease -Look and feel better.
