Addiction Medicine Intensive Outpatient Program
The Addiction Medicine Intensive Outpatient Program (AMIOP) offers a six-week Partial Hospitalization program for patients with a substance use disorder. They are housed in the Medical Transient Detachment (MTD) barracks while in treatment. Treatment begins at 8:00 a.m. and ends at 4:00 p.m., Mondays through Fridays; phones are also staffed from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays.
Referrals are received from OCONUS military outpatient alcohol and drug programs, Army SUDCC, Air Force ADAPT, and Navy SARP. Evaluations for the AMIOP six-week partial program are initiated at the above substance abuse outpatient programs that send all the necessary documentation for referral purposes.
Once AMIOP accepts a referral, there may be a brief waiting period as admissions occur every three weeks, and in times of robust referrals, there may be a delay in treatment.
Treatment modalities include: group therapy, individual counseling, psychodynamic workshops on a variety of substance use recovery and behavior management skills. Program includes familiarization and introduction to 12 Step recovery and attendance at local 12 Step Meetings.
