Outpatient Behavioral Health Service

Mission Statement/Goals/Purpose

The department of Outpatient Behavioral Health Service (OBHS) fulfills a vital community need by providing a wide array of services to active duty, family members, and, when space allows, retirees, DOD civilians and contractors. The clinical services are offered by multi-disciplinary teams made up of psychiatrists, psychologists, psychiatric nurse practitioners, social workers, and technicians.

Appointments

Patients may self refer and call for an intake appointment. In cases of emergency or problems that cannot wait for an appointment, patients may come in on a walk-in basis. At that point, patients are triaged by level of emergency and then seen on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Other clinics can refer patients for evaluation and treatment through AHLTA consults.
  • After-duty emergencies should go to the Emergency Room for care.

Services

After a thorough assessment, and in consultation with the patient, providers will make a recommendation on a course of action. Treatments can last from a few sessions to meetings over the course of weeks and months, depending on the nature of the problem and the time available. In some cases, medication will be recommended in combination with individual or couples therapy.

Confidentiality

OBHS offers confidential help and assistance.
