Child, Adolescent, Family Behavioral Health Services
CAFBHS provides behavioral health treatment and evaluation for active duty family members. CAFBHS target population is school age (5-18) and adult family members.
Services are provided in the outpatient behavioral health clinic and school based programs at the Kaiserslaultern schools. Services are available for individual, family, marital, and group therapies focused on depression, anxiety, developmental issues, difficulties with transition and other issues affecting military families. The CAFBHS multidisciplinary staff consists of experienced psychiatrist, clinical social workers, psychologists, licensed marriage and family therapist, and psychiatric nurse practitioners as well as support staff to address clinically significant mental health diagnosis.
Services Include:
- Treatment for Adjustment disorders, Disruptive behavior disorders, Mood Disorders, Anxiety disorders, ADHD and Autism (ASD) concerns, Parent-child Communication problems
- Psychopharmacology (med management)
- Emergency Department Consultation when warranted
- Consultation if hospitalization is needed

How can I get an appointment?
You can self-refer or refer your family members by calling the clinic to schedule an intake or through a triage appointment by phone to ensure that we are the right fit for your concern. Your PCM may refer as well but there is no need to delay care by waiting for a PCM appointment. A first-time appointment can usually be scheduled within 10 calendar days.

Up the hill from the ED in building 3810 on the third floor above the library.
Are telehealth appointments available?
Yes, they are in many cases but at the discretion of the provider based on rapport and diagnosis.
Can I speak with my child's provider?
Confidentiality will be discussed based on your child’s age at initial appointment. Some communication is available on the MHS GENESIS Patient Portal.
